Shmini Atzeret & Simchat Torah
Shmini Atzeret and Simchat Torah 5787 at Chabad Dharamsala — hakafot, dancing with the Torah scrolls and four festive meals in the heart of the Himalayas.
The festival begins on Friday evening, 2 October, and runs until nightfall on Sunday, 4 October. Four meals: Shmini Atzeret night (Friday evening 2.10) — Bhagsu or Dharamkot, your choice; Shmini Atzeret day (Saturday 3.10) — Bhagsu only; Simchat Torah night (Saturday night 3.10) — Bhagsu only; and Simchat Torah day (Sunday 4.10) — Dharamkot only. The meals are free — pick the ones you want here, meat or vegetarian, and add children if needed. Register ahead, as places are limited, and if you wish you can add a gift of what a meal is worth. The prayers and the hakafot are open to everyone, no registration needed. Chag sameach!
