Chabad House Dharamsala
Kosher Restaurant

Kosher Restaurant

A strictly kosher meat & vegetarian restaurant at both Chabad Houses. Israeli and Indian cuisine.

Kosher, delicious, good for body and soul

We run a strictly kosher meat restaurant at both Chabad Houses, with a variety of vegetarian and meat dishes — shakshuka, schnitzel, skewers, pancakes and plenty of treats.

The flour is sifted, challah is separated, the food is checked, the poultry is slaughtered and koshered according to halacha, the eggs are inspected, and all cooking is bishul Yisrael only.

Beyond the best food in India — there's a homey atmosphere with warm hospitality, a chance to meet good souls, hear what's worth doing in the area, and simply delight in Hashem. The humble shall eat and be satisfied!

Strictly kosher

In India there are only two ways to eat kosher: cooking yourself in private utensils, or eating in the Chabad-House kitchens under close supervision. No local restaurant serves kosher food — even an entirely vegetarian one. Kashrut is at the very heart of our people's holiness.

Opening hours

Weekdays 10:00–21:30 · Friday & holiday eve: open in the morning, at midday only challah & schnitzel · Motzei Shabbat ~30 min after Shabbat ends.
